We are thrilled to share that Sarah Hopkins, Co-Founder of Kūwiingu-néewul Engagement Services (KES) and Matriarch and Founder of Three Sisters Consulting, has been named the 2024 Indigenous Entrepreneur of the Year at the CanadianSME Small Business Awards. The CanadianSME Small Business Awards celebrate the achievements of small business owners who have demonstrated excellence and innovation in their respective fields. This national recognition is a testament to Sarah’s tireless work, vision, and the lasting impact she has made in advancing Indigenous entrepreneurship in Canada. We invite you to join us in the celebration of Sarah, and this tremendous accomplishment by learning a bit about Sarah Hopkins, below.

A proud member of the Turtle Clan of the Lenni Lenape, Sarah’s roots trace back to Lenapehoking (New York City), from where her ancestors were displaced to Eelŭnaapéewi Lahkéewiit (Delaware Nation) in southwestern Ontario. A Day School survivor, she was raised by a lineage of powerful women—her mother, who instilled in her the courage to stand up for what she believes.
Sarah launched Three Sisters Consulting in 2018 with the support of her family and community, with the goal of amplifying Indigenous Peoples’ voices and empowering their success in business, governance, and advocacy. Her work covers not-for-profits, governments, and companies, focussing on Indigenous legal systems, economic development, mining, negotiations, and policy implications.
Sarah also serves as a Board Member for the Canadian Mental Health Association (Lambton Kent Chapter), and previously as an Elected Council Member and Tribal Council Treasurer for her Nation. Her commitment to community, culture, and economic empowerment continues to inspire those around her.
We once again congratulate Sarah on this notable achievement and look forward to seeing the continued impact of her work in Indigenous entrepreneurship and beyond.
